The Veterinary Council of India directs an AICEE for admission to the course. An All India Entrance Examination is led by the Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) for admission to the Master's program in the course.
Eligibility criteria-
Candidate must have a minimum score of 50% in class 12th with physics, chemistry and biology as compulsory subjects.

The basic eligibility criteria required to get admission in veterinary college for Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc & A.H.), is that the candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with minimum 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board. The Veterinary Council of India conducts an All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT) which is an All India Common Entrance Examination held each year in the month of May for filling up of seats in each veterinary college.15% of the total seats from each college will be filled on the basis of common entrance examination.The eligible candidates will be shortlisted for AIPVT 2022 on the basis of All India Rank secured in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) exam.
