hi,

see the placement is good for iisc or old iits like iit kharagpur, iit delhi, iit bombay, iit kanpur, students get placement in core companies which are closely related with materials science,

however for new iits the placement scenario is not good for core engineering branches, students wither go for teaching lines or may appear in IT companies different consultant position job roles.

Whether I should go for mtech in material engineering or it it better to shift from metallurgy domain and prepare for CAT. Currently I am in Jadavpur Univerty in my 3rd yr I am a bit confused, need guidance in this, I don't have much research experience in my subject. And what about PSU's through gate in metallurgy stream, which all PSU's recruit through gate?

mohit161.krish psus hiring is very less for metallurgical domain through gate, however if you are inclined towards management course then you should prepare for cat.
