the college is one of the best college in the country and it provides all the facilities to it's student in each and every way.

talking about CSE branch, the branch is very good here and the academics, campus, infrastructure, fees, hostel and placement rates are also very good , infact is one of the best.

hostel facilities are also good here.

SRM Chennai has two colleges and then comes SRM Kattankukathur which is arnd 1.5hrd away from Chennai and is the main branch of SRM. It is a definitely good college because of the diverse culture. You can get to learn many things, organise events and become members and heads of clubs only if you want to. Ragging is strictly prohibited and if you think some case has been overlooked, you can complain to anti ragging cell and if the accused was found guilty enough he will be expelled from college.Regarding studies, it's a mix of good and bad. Some teachers are really good and they teach you everything and they now. Again some of them don't know anything but they will annoy you for no reason by giving you assignments and cutting short attendance. Also, preferences are given to locals in class or lab since they conversant in local language.There is no such strict dress code except round collar t shirts are not allowed. Also you have to maintain 75% of attendance in order to give the final exams but if you the 5 marks from attendance, make sure to keep your attendance above 95%.The one thing to definitely avoid is a fight with a local shopkeeper or a student since there have gangs and all and unless you are some Batman, you might not want to go against them.
