How is the placement of mtech in earth science under civil department?

Hello anjani,
As your concern about earth science so .It was a bold step creating a department dedicated to the study of Earth and it's geological reliefs. I find it really interesting as this department has something which overlaps with almost all the other departments here.
For example there is a big overlap with Material Science and Physics, then a substantial overlap exists with Civil and Chemical. And if you go deeper you'll also see it's overlap with Electrical (in case you are concentrating on pizo electic natural elements found in earths crust) and CSE(which you need for the analysis of topologies and other stuffs)
So I'm pretty sure it'll be a super interesting journey.
But there is a flaw also, the department has so much overlap that the HOD and other professors are finding it really hard to come up with a fixed and well defined curriculum. But this is just temporary and it would be gone in a few years, so you need not worry about it much.
This branch has far reaching applications also, you can directly enter the field of Satellite Remote Sensing and weather prediction. You'll also find a way into many geo thermal power plants.
Have a happy journey, taking something entirely new is always exciting
Best of luck for your future
