Hello aspirant,
Candidates in the general category are allowed to try no more than six times. There is a maximum of nine attempts for OBC applicants and an infinite number of attempts for ST/SC candidates.

In the General Category, candidates can attempt the UPSC Civil Services Exam up to six times until they reach the age of 32. The number of attempts varies for candidates in different reservation categories:
OBC: 9 times
SC/ST: Unlimited
PwBD: Unlimited
EWS: 6 times
