A Medical student can join Indian by 3 ways:
- Recruitment Camps: There are recruitment camps organised by the Indian Army where candidates are selected on the basis of Physical tests and interview for low rank positions. Updates for these camps is declared on the official website; joinindianarmy.nic.in
- National Defense Academy: Candidates after clearing 10+2 can appear for NDA which is held twice a year, which consists of Written round and SSB round. Candidates can choose their preference between army, Navy, Air Force and Naval. After selection they train in Academies and get posted as Lieutenant and Majors in their respective Defense Service

Combined Defense Services: Candidates clearing graduation can join Indian Army, which has a similar pattern to CDS, written and SSB round. After selection candidates are recruited for training and commissioned on Higher rank in the Defense Services

Yes, NDA examination has a separate paper of Maths which is necessary to be cleared. It includes Mathematics of 10+2 level. It is of total 200 marks.
