Hi, an early career Astrophysicist with 1-4 years of experience earns an average total compensation of 508,682 based on 18 salaries. A mid-career Astrophysicist with 5-9 years of experience earns an average total compensation of 450,000 based on 6 salaries.

On the other hand, An entry level astronomer (1-3 years of experience) earns an average salary of 7,64,234. On the other end, a senior level astronomer (8+ years of experience) earns an average salary of 13,75,621.

At ISRO, the salary depends on the type of post you are in. More important than the salary package are the additional perks you get like:

1. Provident Fund

2. New Pension Scheme

3. Subsidized Canteen

4. Group Insurance

5. Leave Travel Concession

6. House Rent Allowances

7. Transport allowance

8. Medical facilities for self and dependents

Hope this helps!
