JU Mechanical happens to be a very well known dept. with a very strong alumni network. Pay packages are decent & you will end up getting a pretty stable & secured job (you should not be expecting packages like those offered in CSE obviously). As for research, this is the sector where JU comes in. Research scope is very good in JU.
