Dear Abhishek,

The Cut off list plays a significant role to decide whether student qualified or not qualified in test. Cut off differ for each category - General, OBC, SC, ST. The percentile will be determined on the basis of higher marks secured in All India common merit list in the upcoming NEET exam.

It will be different for Government, Private Medical colleges. Also it will differ depending on whether you are applying for All india quota 15% or State quota 85%.

If your rank is with in the cutoff you will surely get a Medical College seat.

Hope this is helpful.

All the best

Thank You.

Hello Abhishek

  • Going by trends of previous years councelling if you score 550+ your chances of getting a government Medical college are high.

Dear Abhishek,

There is nothing called passing marks in NEET Exam. In NEET, it is qualifying marks rather which is 50th percentile for general category and 40th percentile for reserved categories. Try to score 550+. Then you'll definitely get a govt. medical college.
If you want to score good marks in NEET then just follow simple steps -
Clear your basic concepts.
Be thorough with NCERT textbook. Its a must.
Solve previous year question papers.
Take mock tests to assess your progress.
Solve questions from any reference book you prefer for competitive exams
Solve as much as numerical possible.
Use shortcuts to solve to save your time. Formulas to be at your Fingertips.
All the best !

Hie Abhishek,

  • The score required depends on whether you are applying for 15% All India Quota or 85% State Quota. It also depends on the category you belong to. Moreover, the NEET cut-off varies from state to state as well as from college to college.

  • However, assuming you are opting for 15% All India Quota, under General Category, the last year's (2017) closing rank for Government Colleges was 5579 which corresponds to a score range of 520-530 marks out of 720.

  • Based on these trends, this year, you must focus on getting a score above 550 to ensure a seat in a good government medical college.

All the very best for your preparations!

Hi Abhishek!

As per the competition in NEET 2018, a minimum of 600+ is must to get admission in good govt medical college through NEET.

  • For a score  of 600+ in NEET 2018, you need to focus on time management and pattern of solving questions. This can be only achieved by serious dedicated practice and questions solving.
  • Dont read from too many books or study materials. Quality over quantity matters. NCERT +NEET/AIPMT past year papers are absolute must.
  • NEET examination will test your speed. You have to solve 180 questions in 180 minutes. So to score above 600 + in NEET, speed and accuracy is very important.
  • You should aware of simple, basic concepts before knowing the complex ones. New concept delivered in a way that builds upon existing topics/concepts is easier to make sense of and retain. While solving questions, apply the tricks (mostly taught by your coaching teachers).Resolve your doubts quickly. If you dont understand anything, ask the same question again and again from your teacher.
  • In the test, attempt that subject first in which you are most comfortable. During the NEET exam and before that in practice tests also, do not let any question eat up your time. Skip the question as soon as you are nowhere close to the answer. Come back to these questions after you finished the whole paper once.
  • Give your best in remaining days. Study hard with consistency.

All the Best for Exam!!
