Hello there.

AIIMS, Delhi is one of the most prestigious medical institution in India. Getting into AIIMS is not possible without hard work, determination and good time management.

If you are in Class XI right now it would be best for you to attend all classes so that the concepts are crystal clear. If you are in Class XII make sure to keep up with the pace of your coaching and school and at the same time make sure to revise the syllabus of Class XI.

On top of all this, the most important thing here is time management. See, I am not aware of your daily activities, the time spend in your coaching and school, so I can't make up a time schedule for you. You know yourself best, try building a schedule where you devote maximum time for studies. Remember, 7-8 hours of sleep is most necessary.

Next, the following books might help you in your preparation. First of all, you have to complete all the NCERTs diligently. NCERT of Physics and Chemistry should be completed too because in AIIMS the assertion-reasoning questions come directly from NCERT. Don't forget to read the summary of all chapters of all subjects. For Physics, make sure to read the Points to Ponder section. It is extremely important for Assertion-Reasoning type questions.

For Biology, competing NCERTs word to word, should be enough. Along with that make sure to solve the book MTG NCERT at your fingertips. You will score high marks in Biology just with this.

For Physics, refer to the examples of HC Verma and solve all questions of D C Pandey. Make sure to solve the exercises and examples of NCERT first.

For Chemistry, after doing NCERT solve the Vibrant Academy's books of Inorganic and Physical Chemistry and for organic refer to Arihant's book. You will get ditto questions of Physical chemistry in the exam from the above mentioned book.

Also, make sure to complete all the previous year question and attempt mok test papers to get yourself habituated for the exam situation.

All the best!

Hello, Arvind

To get admission in AIIMS, people from general category require at 50% marks in entrance test.So following are few tips to prepare and earn good marks:

For biology-only follow one book called NCERT. In NCERT each and every line, chart, diagram has a potential question in it.About 90% of questions in bio sections comes from NCERT.So study NCERT thoroughly, but also practice mcq from other books as well.

For chemistry starting from physical, you only need some formulae and knowledge for its right application. Some chapter here like thermo, equilibrium, electrochemistry needs good NCERT grip . Rest all is practice of various mcqs from different books. For inorganic chemistry also refer only NCERT.For organic concepts are key.If you know how the reaction has proceeded , via which mechanism your half work is done .Other than that all named reactions and general organic chemistry portion (class 11) is very important for making concepts.

For physics -First the entire NCERT then go for some other good books for concepts clearity like,D C Pandey, S.L. Arora,HCV (any one but read once the entire book), and the rest depends on practice.

Also if you go for coaching class read the study material provided.

So to clear the exam you require 50% determination,40% hard work and the rest 10% is luck.

Hope your query is solved.
