Candidates must either rank in the top 20% of their class on the High School Exit Exam or have a grade point average of 3.75 or above. Those from SC/ST must have earned a 65% or higher on the 12th grade Board Exam to be considered. The BTech programme at NIT Durgapur uses the Joint Admissions and Scholarships Counseling (JoSAA) Counselling 2022 as a second criterion for admission. Seats in the NIT+ system that go unclaimed in JoSAA are subject to CSAB Special Rounds of counselling.
