Hello,

The eligibility criteria for joining merchant navy is completing intermediate with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics from any authorized board with not less than 65%  total marks. All candidates must be unmarried Indian citizens (male or female).

To get admission in Merchant Navy you must need to qualify entrance exam known by IMU.

Clear 10+2

Students are required to complete 10+2 in physics, chemistry, maths with an aggregate of 50 per cent of marks or equivalent to it from a recognised board.

Entrance Exams

Several colleges conduct entrance exams before taking student admission. In order to be eligible to sit for the entrance exam, students must complete their 10+2 with a minimum of 50 per cent marks. There are other colleges and universities which provide admission on the basis of the cut-off of 12th passing percentage.

Post Bachelor

Once the bachelor's degree is completed the student has two options:

Option 1: He or she can begin working in the field of merchant navy at an entry-level post.
