The NDA Selection Process 2019 is primarily divided into two stages, same as previous years, the first is a written examination and the second is SSB Interview. The candidates shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the written test are required to participate in the Selection Process of NDA 2019.

The candidates meeting the NDA Cut Off for their respective categories are required to appear for the interview before the selection boards of Army, Navy and Air Force.

Written Examination

The written examination is the first stage of the selection of candidates. The successful candidates from the first stage would be only invited to participate in the next round.

• NDA 2018 is a 900 marks test- further divided into two sections: Mathematics and General Ability Test.
• Duration of the exam is 180 minutes comprising objective type questions.
• Minimum qualifying marks are decided by the commission for participating in the selection process.
• Qualifying candidates have to sit for the interview consisting of Psychological Aptitude Test and Intelligence or Personality test.

SSB Interview (Psychological Aptitude Test And Intelligence Test)

The SSB Interview is the second and final round of NDA Selection Process. The SSB Interview round comprises two separate tests – Psychological Aptitude Test and Intelligence Test.

The two-stage selection procedure based on Psychological Aptitude Test and Intelligence Test has been introduced at Selection Centres. The qualifying candidates have to be put to the stage for test on the first day of reporting at Selection Centres.

Only those candidates who qualify at stage 1 will be called for the remaining tests. Qualifying candidates have to submit the following Original Certificates along with one photocopy each of -

• Original Matriculation pass certificate or equivalent in support of date of birth,
• Original 10+2 pass certificate or equivalent in support of educational qualification.

To be acceptable, candidates for the Army/Navy/Naval Academy and Air Force should secure the minimum qualifying marks separately in -

• Written examination of NDA as set by the Commission.
• Officer Potentiality Test as fixed by SSB at their discretion.

The procedure is simple you need to follow these steps:-

• You need to appear for NDA written exam conducted by UPSC twice every year.
• You will have to clear the written exam and you will a get a call for SSB from one of the boards of your preference(either Army, Air Force or Navy)
• On being recommended by the Services Selection Board, proceed for the Medical examination.
• On being declared medically fit, wait for the merit list.
• If you find your name in the merit list, then wait for the joining letter to reach you by post and the police verification.
• Read the joining instructions and prepare accordingly and report at the said place(PUNE STATION MCO) on the said time with the list of things to be brought with you.

• Get trained for 6 semesters at NDA, and another 1 year either at IMA or AFA or INA.

To become an NDA officer you have to write NDA/NA entrance exam held every year twice by UPSC. The eligibility criteria is 10+2 and age limit as specified for the year of examination. The exam is conducted to recruit candidates for Army, Navy and AirForce. If you clear the entrance exam you will be called for SSB at the centre specified in your call letter. SSB is a week long procedure in which there are several tests to test you mentally and physically.

One has to be disciplined and quite agile in every aspect of life. The board looks for the officer like qualities in the candidates those who can be groomed further to serve the nation.
