how to build a good profile for interview?how to prepare for Gd and wat?
Dear Aspirant,
The Personal interview isn't as tough as it looks like. There are however no specific sets of questions that you will be asked. Since you are a business school aspirant, it is very important for you to show the necessary skills:
Adaptability to change.
Interpersonal and communication skills.
Strategic thinking and planning abilities.
Global orientation.
Leadership.
Teamwork.
Problem solving and analytical skills.
Initiative.
Clarity of concept and confidence is one of the aspects which can easily impress an interviewer. Expect questions from your specialisation subjects and it will be the best for you to revise important topics. Pay attention to your subsidiaries if any too. Interviewers are happy to select candidates who have in depth knowledge of their past courses and also the ones they are applying to. Interviewers are also keen for candidates who are well aware of themselves and their surroundings. Having a hold on general knowledge and current affairs show that you are capable of looking at problem solving from a multi-approach perspective.
Also, it is very important to be able to justify each and every point on your resume. Do not mention anything in your cover letter or resume that you do not have substantial evidence for. Make sure you are completely honest and know the specific details.
Do not expect the interview to be completely based on academics. Interviewers are always interested on knowing the skills and other related interests of the interviewee.
Group Discussions will involve the panel assessing the candidates ability to interact and produce meaningful interpretations. The candidates ability to deliver their stance is assessed. The group usually consists of six to twelve members who discuss about a topic. The best way to prepare for this is to be equipped with information and knowledge. Clarity in thought will add to a major bonus. Familiarise yourself with important data. Communicate your sharp thoughts that demonstrate your clear understanding of the topic.
For the writing ability test, it is best to read a lot and enhance your vocabulary. Free expression of thought that is written in a concise and logical manner will be an added advantage. Practice writing a lot. Take guidance from an expert who can help you structure your writing samples better.
Hope this helps. All the best!
Hello there. Hope you are doing good. You have not mentioned the field of study and which interview you are appearing for so I am providing you with a general answer. Your profile determines your past academic record i.e your 10th and 12th scorecard ale achieved something along with your graduation mark sheets. If you have participated in any extra-curricular activities in your school or college and have achieved something fruitful out of it, you can add such certificates in your profile.
Talking about GD, you need to keep yourself updated about what's happening in the world and specially the nation as any topic can be picked up by the interviewers related to current affairs. Another aspect could be situation based GD, where a situation will be given to your group and you all have to present your points regarding the same. At the end, what matters in GD is your communication skills and the way your are responding to a situation. You need to be calm and patient while listening to what others are saying and respond accordingly.
I hope you found this answer helpful. Good luck for your future.
