Greetings,
here are some simple steps to get into Harvard Med school after 12th in India;
- Finish your 10+2 in PCB with minimum 70%
- Appear for SATs (for admission into undergraduate courses in the US) and score well enough to get into a pre-med school (minimum 4 years of pre-med school is required before applying for a full fledged medical course)
- after completions of pre-med appear for MCAT and score really really well in it (a highly competitive and technical graduate level exam to get admission into actual med schools in US, Harvard included)
- Your scores, other achievements and general CV experience will determine your chances of getting into Harvard once you apply.
- It will be a 4 year Med school program at Harvard after which you get to do internship (the number of internship years depend upon which residency you choose), you also get an option to intern in your home country.
- Be a doctor and work hard for the community
Cons:
- Very expensive course (Harvard tuition for med school alone is 60,000$ per annum)
- MCAT is pretty hard as well as competitive being a graduate level exam especially compared to NEET in India which is meant for high school students
- It takes longer to become an actual medical practitioner in the US (around 8 years of college, not counting your PG degree)
Pros:
- Great pay as expected
- Great reputation worldwide
Best of luck if you do plan on going that way,
Good day!
