Hello Shaik,

GATE is one of the tough exams so therefore I would say to you Relax. Think Calmly. GATE exam tests your basic knowledge in the engineering subjects. It has mix of easy questions and difficult ones. One requires to be thorough with details of various subjects. As it is a competition ,the thing that differentiates you from others is your accuracy.

If your goal is clear that you want to crack Gate with good marks, then nothing is there to distract you. I have seen plenty of students facing same problem, some dealt with it and some left there journey in between. (they opted for something else)

First of all, Clear your goal.

Secondly, be thorough with your field Gate syllabus. As this is the most important thing to keep in mind.

Then, start taking up small objectives for the day that you can complete. (keeping in mind about college schedule). Small objectives will help you remain motivated, because you will be able to complete them. Keep your focus on Gate, okay. College exams in private colleges are not tough, all you do is to manage yourself and your time. Don't be fussy, don't try to achieve everything in a day. STAY CALM.

Now, how to take out time for studies. I should tell you I not making up any schedule for you here but I m letting you know how to utilise your time. So here it goes, I guess college hours are about 6–7 hours. All you need to do is take out about 3–4 hrs, after college, (initially) to study for Gate, and I know that it is not tough. Infact, college keep us more in our schedule. (n I mean it seriously ).

Now, if you been maintaining this schedule for a week or two. Then, proceed by increasing your hours by 1 or 2 and try to solve questions, whenever you get free time in college. Okay, this where you spend your college hours fruitfully by practicing lots n lots of problem. Look, there is a lot of disturbance in college, so you can't take up theory, all you can do is PRACTICE MORE.!!!

Lastly, for college exams, I don't know much about your exam pattern. But, In our college we used to have two midterms and then, finals. What you can do is to take up college syllabus 2 or 3days before the midterms and 10days before semesters (and in that time, About Gate, try to practice, liking taking a test or solving old Gate problems which already have been solved by you and ofcourse leave them in during exam time and focus on your semesters).

One more thing, i would suggest for you. Start meditating whenever you get time. Give yourself about 10 mins and try to calm you down in those 10mins.

I hope this help you.

All the best

Thank you

Match common topics with GATE. The rest are already done by you so you should refresh the concepts. Check previous year papers for a clarity on weightage of topics and start accordingly.
