Hello Aishwarya,

Greetings!

NEET UG will test your performance on the basis of the knowledge that you have gained. With exam dates coming closer, it is expected to become a bit nervous, however, with proper precautions and measured steps, it will be easier to deal with the stress while focusing on the preparation. Self-study is the one of the most important aspect of this journey. For better results in NEET, focus on the following points:

1. Understanding of the pattern: First and foremost, it is important to know about the type of questions asked in this exam. For that, we must get well acquainted with the syllabus. The syllabus of NEET covers syllabi of various state boards, therefore, one must be well versed with the topics that are covered under the syllabi of other states. Make a note of the topics that are not covered in your board syllabus and club them in order to prepare for NEET 2019. With the syllabus, candidates should also go through the exam pattern like marking scheme, number of questions, sections and exam duration.

2. Focus on the basis: Before moving higher, it is advisable to strengthen the basis first. Since the syllabus is vast and covers topics from many state boards, it should be the prime focus to clear the doubts regarding basics. Start from the scratch and develop a basic understanding of the concepts. It is recommended to have in-depth knowledge.

3. Make notes: With the pool of information around, it is impossible to memorise every detail. Hence, while studying, maintain a proper diary which can be used for revision. Further, writing the information enhances the possibility of the retrieving it faster.

4. Take Mock tests: As the mode is online and many candidates will be giving it for the first time, we should get acquainted with the exam pressure. This also tells us whether the time allotment is appropriate or not. The comprehensive summary generated after the mock tests can reveal the areas of improvement, thereby, giving a better direction to our preparation.

5. Practice from the previous year’s question paper and sample papers: Unlike the books which cover almost everything, these papers are exam specific. These will give insights about the repetitive questions and important topics.

6. Prepare a time table and revise regularly: It will be beneficial to prepare a plan of action for the study. This plan will basically be a time table which is to be followed regularly. A well-crafted timetable allows you to bifurcate time and allot equal time to each section. This will increase the discipline and will help in covering the vast syllabus at an acceptable pace.

Further, we should be focusing on the books to develop an extensive understanding of the conceptual knowledge.

For the physics section, there are 45 questions which carry 180 marks wherein mostly questions are from Electrostatics, Mechanics and Electronics domain.
