Hello Gaurav

First of all, this is the criteria that you need to qualify for JEE Advanced:

Only those students are allowed to appear for JEE Advanced exams, those who have given their board exam in 2017- 2018 for the first time and those who have appeared for JEE Mains online or offline 2018 exam.

There are two basic conditions, out of which students need to fulfill at least one of them to be allowed to write JEE Advanced 2018 exam.

Students either should score 75% in their board exams. (For general category it is 75% aggregate and for OBC/ SC / ST class, the score is 70%. Or students need to secure a place in the list of top 20 percentile of each category list in their Board exams.

When applying for JEE Advanced 2018 exam, students should be born on or after October 1, 1993. For the students those who belong to SC/ ST / OBC classes should be born on or after October 1, 1988.

There is a speculation of almost 3-4 lakh students appearing for JEE Mains exam and out of which 150000 students will get selected and will appear for JEE Advanced 2016 exam.

These 224000 students are those who have topped the merit list (across all the lists). The further bifurcation of these 224000 students can be stated as: 50.5% candidates from Common Merit List; 27% candidates from OBC list; 15% from SC merit list; 7.5% from ST merit list and almost 3% from PWD (Person with disabilities) merit list.

The candidates, whose names are listed in CML, will not be featured in the other mentioned merit lists.

Students can attempt the JEE Advanced exam in two consecutive attempts.

Best of luck
