I am 1st year CSE student. I want to start preparation for IAS. Is it possible for CSE engineering student for writing UPSC exam??
Hey Nani,
Preparation for UPSC Civil service examination requires a lot of effort, continuous hardwork and a lot of time. Preparation from your first year of BTECH will yield you a good result, if you continuously put effort in your preparation in the upcoming years of your BTECH. And it is possible to crack this examination, for a CSE student. Just have faith in yourself and spend around 4-5 hours of extra study for your UPSC exam preparation apart from your regular BTECH studies.
Always keep yourself updated from the latest news till the last year of your BTECH. Also complete all the NCERT materials as soon as possible. 3RD year onwards start solving problem sets regularly. Revise your work and concepts, daily. Regularly analyse yourself for your weak part and put effort to improve it.
At last join a good test series to check your level of preparation in your final year. You will definitely excel in UPSC examination if you follow this. I hope you have got your answer.
Good luck !
Hello
Like every other candidate, a CSE student also have the edge of graduation stream.
- Being from CSE, you have better understanding of the recent happenings in the field of IT, Science & Technology, IPR, Robotics, GS 3, Essay, CyberSpace/security/threat/.., and many more.. .
- But you loose in having the choice of Optional subject.
- Only stage that you will be tested on CSE is at the Interview, because only they know that you are from so and so branch.
- The ones correcting you Mains or Prelims Answer sheets will never know what you had in graduation, from where, they only look in-to is the answer that you write.
- you have to take different optional subjects as cse subjects are not available.See the list of other optional subjects available and choose the one which suits you the best. And there are subjects like Mathematics , Physics and chemisty too where you can expertise as you have a science background
- Dont waste your energy on these thoughts, instead think on how can CSE better the present system
Lastly, one the best thing a CSE student has in this journey is the mindset
CSE student has the best edge of understanding the exam all-together!
Hope it helps
