i am a art's student can i do nursing course?
Generally speaking, to be eligible for nursing courses, one should have taken Science in their +2 (Class 11 and 12). However, there are two courses in the field of nursing, which can be opted by a student who is from Arts background. These courses include -
- Auxiliary Nursing Midwife (ANM)
- General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)
Auxiliary Nursing Midwife (ANM)
- Eligibility - Class 12 with a minimum 40 to 50 per cent in aggregate with Arts/Commerce/Science streams
- Course duration - 2 years diploma course with 6 months mandatory internship
- Admission - Based on the performance in the entrance exam (merit based)
- Fees Range (per anum) - Rs 10,000 to Rs 60,000
- Starting Salary (Average per month) - Rs 8,000 to Rs 12,000
General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)
- Eligibility - Class 12 with a minimum 40 to 50 per cent in aggregate with Arts/Commerce/Science streams
- Course duration - 3 years 6 months (including 6 months mandatory internship)
- Admission - Based on the performance in the entrance exam (merit based)
- Fees Range (per anum) - Rs 20,000 to Rs 1.5 Lakh
- Starting Salary (Average per month) - Rs 15,000 to 18,000
