hello,
first of all gate 2019 has over and 2020 gate application form has been closed. now as you have 4 years gap you will be asked to justify why did you not have any work experience in those years. so be prepare for that. and PSUs hiring for ece students is really less compare to electrical and mechanical. and gate exam is not like semester exam. one or 2 month study is not enough. and need high quality notes and practice. and to get good institution for mtech you need to bring a score of above 800+. if you are not sure that you can achieve this high score , do start working for start up company, learn some cutting edge technologies like python,java,HTML,CSS  and apply to different job seekers website. and parallel prepare for competitive exam.

It's nothing like they consider it or not.. It's upto you to take a break and then appear for Any entrance exam like CAT GATE GRE etc whatever or give it in the due course. What matters is your score and the percentile that they need obviously along with the talent that you must possess. It's but obvious, that companies can get to know that you have taken a break by seeing your pass out  certificates everything and can prioritize someone else over you due to this reason but if you are good enough in the PI and GDC rounds to impress them, well than nothing matters.
