EWS reservation is for General Category students who fulfil the criteria for availing the reservation. Now if you are eligible and if you have the required documents, you can opt for EWS reservation. But if you do not want to opt for reservation and want to secure a seat under open merit, you can select General Category. If you belong to UP, then you are eligible for All India Quota of all the States except for Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. But you can only enter one State there in the application form. But NTA released an official notification stating that irrespective of the State that you enter in the application form you can participate in All India Counselling for all States except for Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
