Hello,
You can appear in JEE mains examination but only after completing your diploma or you will be able tp apply in your final year of diploma.Hoever you cannot get admission in any engineering college based on jee mains score.If you will qualify jee mains you only will be eligible to appear in jee advance and further if you can crack advance with good score,you can secure admission in IITs in 1st year if engineering degree.
Or you can choose to appear in Lateral Entry examinations after diploma for various colleges and universities through which you will be able to get admission in 2nd year of engineering degree course.

Hello Aspirant,
You can write JEE Main and then JEE Advanced when you'll be in the final year of your diploma and two years more for JEE Main and one year moee for JEE Advanced. However remember that IITs and NITs do not offer lateral entry provision. You will get admission in 1st year only, not in 2nd year.
