Here's the eligibility criteria that you need to qualify for GATE.

• Candidates should have completed their Bachelors degree in Engineering/Technology or Masters degree (M.Sc) in any relevant science subject or must be in the final year of the programme.

• While applying for GATE 2019, there is no minimum pass percentage in the qualifying degree.

• Age Limit -There is no age limit for applicants of GATE.

Hey. It all depends on your way of looking at it.

If you can study both streams,then obviously you'll excel in it.

Don't worry. Just go and at least give it a try.

If you are familiar with some of the programming languages and if you can proceed further to computer science subjects then its not a big deal in changing the branch,and you can apply for GATE 2019.
