Aspirants, when theybegin IAS preparation, are generally confused. They are unsure about how to start, and what to study. Theyhave numerous queries in their mind regarding exam eligibility, exam dates etc. Many are not sure if coaching is essential or not. Their worries are not unfounded.

Hello Ajay... I'm very glad to hear that you are looking for such an iconic career. See UPSC demands candidate who is graduate or pursuing graduation. Under UPSC exams held such as IAS, IFS, IPS, IRS, IES and more.
Candidate with an engineering background, eligible for IES and Other UPSC exams too. whereas candidate who did normal graduation or Hons are eligible for all UPSC exams except IES (becoz it Needs engineering degree).
Subjects you will come across while preparing for UPSC - History, Polity, Geography, Environment & science, economy, art & culture, current affair national & international.
You can start preparation -
1. Go through syllabus and its subtopics becoz you need to what topic is in which unit
2. Go with previous years solved question paper (Vishal publication has 15yrs solved pre and mains question paper)
3. Try to analyze the questions they ask is from which topic and what all topics they did not even touch.
4. After reading materials try to solve as many as possible practice paper or mock paper. Only this will help you to build your confidence.
5. Try to discuss current affair topics with the professor from the specific field such as economy, polity etc, discuss candidate who is to preparing for IAS/IPS/IFS/IRS. This will help you to broaden your opinion, thoughts, way of thing, where you are lacking and where you are wrong will s=be sorted out by discuss only

IAS is the short form of Indian Administrative Service . It is one of the prestigious services among the 24 services like IPS, IFS etc for the which the UPSC conducts Civil Services Examination (CSE) for selecting the candidates.
To become an IAS you have to clear UPSC CSE 3 stages - Prelims, Mains, and Interview. it is one of the toughest exams in India and has high competition but with right attitude and strategy, you can achieve it. To clear IAS Exam, aspirants are advised to start their preparation at least 1 year before the Prelims.
As you are now in graduation and want to give IAS exam it is recommended to start as soon as possible you need proper time management you can join coaching or if it suits you you can prepare by yourself.
