GPA is multiplied by 9.5 to get the percentage. A person who scores a 10 on 10 GPA would have scored anything between 95% and 100%. The system of GPA was introduced to take off hard feelings of losing top ranks. According to the board and universities which issue grade points instead of percentage, everyone is a topper who scores 95% and above. Anyone who scores between 81 and 100 have scored 9 on 10, 71 to 80 has scored 8 on 10 and so on. This is the best technique of awarding marks is one of the best practices India has ever adopted.
