Hello,

This totally are different subjects dear. If you want to be an engineer then you can go for BTech. BTech is bachalor of Technology study. There so many options for choosing stream like

  • Computer science engineering
  • Electrical engineering
  • Civil engineering
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Food technology
  • Information technology etc.

You can do MBA or Mtech infact you can go for UPSC examination after completing this BTech.

Now BA is arts subject and it's bachalor of arts. If you want to go UPSC you can join this. But after join this you can't go for engineering dear but completing engineering you can go for UPSC. Now choice is yours.

All the best.

Hello,

To become an IAS officer there is no single course that you have to do. You need to have completed you graduation. So Candidates must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a reputed university. After this you need to qualify the Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Exam. The exam itself is structured into three parts – the Preliminary (Civil Services Aptitude Test – CSAT), Main Exam, and finally the Interview.

As a personal opinion I think it would be better to do BA than B.Tech since BA can be done in various subjects like social science, history, etc which will give you an upper hand.

Even if you do B.Tech there is no problem since Engineering is offered as optional subject also.

So first complete your graduation and in the meantime read more about the eligibilty criteria like the number of attempts, age limit, etc.

I  have shared a link with you below where you can read about the eligibility criteria: https://competition.careers360.com/articles/upsc-ias-eligibility-criteria#IAS-Eligibility-Criteria-2021--Educational-Qualification

Inculcate the habit of reading the daily newspaper and keep yourself aware of  latest happenings in the country and the world.

Work on your interpersonal skills and communication skills. Your personality is tested during the interview.

Good Luck
