dear aspirant,
firstly the overall information for placment :=In the last year placements, the highest package of 35 lpa was offered by Worldquant. Snapdeal offered 14 lpa, which was the second the highest package offered by any company. Amazon, DRDO, Brahmos, Unisys, Fluor Daniel, etc., visited the campus. Infosys which was around 3.12 to 3.5 LPA. The order of placement is for every branch is as CSE>mechanical>ECE>CE>EEE branch.
The students got placed from different branches are given as, for civil, it is 89 out of 117, for mechanical, it is 107 out of 134. For CSE, 66 out of 81. For ECE, it is 98 of 115. For EE, it is 62 out of 81, and for ENI, it is 42 out of 53. The maximum CTC offered is 17 LPA.
The placements are good as far as CSE and ECE departments are concerned, it's good for the core branches as well, but PSUs are less as compared to the other colleges for mechanical and electrical.
For mechanical :
Nearly, 80% of the mechanical engineering students got placed in core, analysis and IT companies, this year. Many of them also got placed through off-campus placements. Nearly 5-7 students got placed in PSUs. Well-reputed core companies like Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Bajaj, Ashok Leyland, Vedanta, Honda and many more recruited nearly 60% of the students.
For ECE :-
Well Ece is the branch that is continuously growing as I have seen in the past years. If you passionate about switches boards and wires circuits then you must choose Ece branch.
As far as nit silchar is concerned it is one of the oldest nit so you should not worry about faculty and facilities you will get as a Ece student.
hope this helps.
