I am in 12th and i have to give clat next year also .Can some one tell me how much time i should give to clat preperation
Hi Shailja,
Thanks for asking,
You can get a good NLUs even with a 2 months preparation, yes, there is a possibility.
English- 40
Maths - 20
GK- 50
Logic- 40
Legal Reasoning- 50
- First and Foremost it is very important to find out your weakness.
- After finding the weakness, say maths, work on it, but, make sure that you are not spending too much time on it, you have only 2 months so, you need to optimize your time.
- See the past year papers, yes, this is very important, seat 1 day and skim through all the past year papers and you will get an amazing idea of what to study.
- Prepare GK, yes, no matter you hate or love, you need to prepare GK. The advantage here is in GK you can score many marks in less time. So how to prepare GK in 2 months?
- Prepare the last 6 months (Jan, Feb, March, April 2016 and Nov, Dec 2015) very nicely
- Make notes from Jagranjosh Exam Prep: Government, MBA, Engineering, CBSE, http://www.gktoday.in, and also take the quizzes from these sites.
- You will get a fair idea of what all things are important in Current Affairs after going through the past year papers.
- Solve lots of MCQs of Current Affairs and Static GK
- For static GK, since you have 2 months, you simply do history and Miscellaneous from Lucent GK book first and do it very nicely. Along with this make sure that you are doing Political science and legal GK very nicely since these are extremely important from CLAT perspective.
- If you complete all these then you are done with GK
- Logical Reasoning is very important and can be prepared easily, at least easier than GK. Have a smart approach. It is very important to clear the concepts of the chapters very nicely before solving. Do these books exhaustively -
- Analytical Reasoning by MK Pandey
- Verbal Reasoning by RS Agarwal
- Legal Reasoning you need to practice with caution since the market is flooded with wrong answers so you need to select material very wisely.
- Career Launcher material is very good
- IMS CLAT Legal Reasoning is also good
- Legal Edge by Harsh Gagrani
- English- assuming you are from an English medium background and you have a fair approach towards English, I would say in this section lots of practice is needed for which you can take objective English book of Pearson and/or McGraw Hill
Best of Luck for CLAT 2019
