Hello Aspirant
CA is a professional course which requires systematic effort and sincere study from it's aspirants. You have decided to take up this course so make sure you give your best. The entrance exam for CA is CA foundation. It consists of 4 papers
Paper 1: Principles and practice of accounting
This paper is for 100 marks which is from Accountancy. You have to work out accounts everyday so that your speed increases with every problem you solve. You can maintain a points book for writing down important adjustments for easy reference.
Paper 2: Law and Business Correspondence and reporting
This paper consists of law in section A and BCR which is basically English in section B. Law is for 60 marks and English is 40 marks . Make sure you understand each and every consept in law thoroughly .It is better if you mention the section and case laws in your answer. But if you have forgotten the section don't go to mention the wrong section. Coming to English make sure your English proficiency (written) is good enough. It is easy to score in English compared to law in paper 2.
Paper 3: Business Mathematics , Logical Reasoning & Statistics
This paper consists of maths and stats for 40 marks each and LR for 20 marks. You have give equal importance to all the 3 subjects. It is easy to score 20 marks in LR which has aptitude questions like number series, alphabet series, direction tests etc.
Paper 4: Business Economics and Business Commercial Knowledge
It consists of 60 marks economics and 40 marks BCK. It is more than enough if you study thoroughly from ICAI study material.
All the paper is for 100 marks each and you are required to score a minimum of 40 in each paper and an aggregate of 200 out of 400 to clear CA foundation. Paper 1 and 2 is discriptive without any negative marking, Paper 3 and 4 are objective with negative marking. Make sure you make your own notes for every subject while doing your day to day studies. Write mock tests as much as possible to get an experience of the exam environment and level of difficulty of the questions. Work out the previous years paper before giving mock tests.
Always divide the syllabus into A, B and C sections. The A section is the one which covers 30% of the entire syllabus in volume. But the important point is that 70% of questions are put up from this section only. The C section is the one which covers 50% of the entire syllabus but only 20% questions come from this section. Apart from these two sections, the remaining section is the B section.
Hope it helps
Thank you & Good Luck!!!
