i am obc-ncl candidate.. but in my 1st round allotment my quota was given as open .. why is it so?

hope you are doing great. As per your query I would glad to tell you that when you are competiting in any quota then you first competition is held between students of your quota against your reserved seat and when you dont get the seat in reserved seats then you competiite among general category students so by this you can get more priority and this whole quota is termed as open category
