No doubt your ranks are highly recognised. Its a really great achievement, no doubt you might have prepared a lot and burnt your midnight lamps but that truly showcases your outcome! Miles to go good.you can definitely get a good IIT even top IIT with good branches.None the less why to use the score of a single asset or test, use both your ranks if given in the same passing year to be your playing cards for getting admission into good IIT.Be it any Iit this time u definitely are going to hit the eye!Even if you wish to choose any one in that case using advance scores being a privilidged category would add more value to it.
As you have secured 12k rank in jEE mains which is better than 4300 in jEE advance.
But, I would advice you to choose for the IITs over NITs only if you are getting your desired branch in a good IITs.
Since IITs are one of the best technical institutes in India therefore it's everyone's dream to get in there.
And if you are getting a chance why not try once.

Your jee main rank is much better than jee advance. You should take colleges like DTU,NSIT, IGDTUW and IIT-D. You should prefer top branch in DTU is much better than low branch in NIT,IIIT etc.
Hope it helps.
Best of luck
