I am student of commerce passing 12th class.I want to become RBI governor. What I have to do?

That is a great ambition. To begin with , after 12th you need to choose a degree in economics,banking or finance. And regarding the institution ,based on the educational background of previous RBI governors , though it no a rule, it important that you get your degrees from the top-notch institutes like IIM or preferably globally reputed institutes like Harvard,Stanford, Yale,London School of Economics,Oxford etc. This is because education form these makes you very competent and efficient in many ways which is necessary to take up a position like RBI Governor. If you can go up till doctorate level then it will be beneficial. Having said that , more than degrees, you should gain a very good experience by holding various posts and responsibilities in banking and finance sector,especially the Finance Dept. of Govt.of India, until you reach the governor post. Remember that it is a step by step process. At this age , you start by developing deep interest in economics ,finance and banking subjects,you should be good with political science too. You should be extremely disciplined , keep building your knowledge, GK is very important,know about the career journey of all past governors , gain inspiration , read and try to understand their work and contributions. It is not going to be an easy accomplishment hence stay determined if you really wish to become the RBI governor .
