Hello Student,

If you want to become a judge, then you need to pursue an LLB degree for 5 years after 10+2 in any stream or you can pursue an LLB degree for three years after any bachelor degree programme. Then you have to register yourself with the Indian State Bar Council and appear for the All India Bar Exam (AIBE) examination.

After clearing the examination, you will receive the Certificate of Practice (CoP). After a few years of practising law, you can also appear for the Judicial Services Examination or PCS (J)-Provincial Civil Service-Judicial Examination. This exam will help you to become a practising member of the subordinate judiciary. There are two types of Judicial Services Examinations - Lower Judicial Services (LJS) and Higher Judicial Services (HJS) but both follow the same steps of recruitment. This examination has three steps, such as Preliminary Examination, Mains Examination, Viva-Voce/Interview.

I hope the answer will help you, and for more information follow the https://www.careers360.com/ .

Considering it is already 2022, I am hoping that you are a law student currently. If you are not, you can get a graduation degree in any course and then pursue 3 year LL.B.

Thereafter, get yourself enrolled in the State Bar Council and then clear the Bar Exam (AIBE). After that you will become an advocate. Now you can apply for various vacancies the states publish for the post of civil judge. Each state has its own exam so you will have to give multiple exams to become a judge. Each state has a 3 tier exam. You can find that information easily on Google.

The eligibility to become a Judge is Graduation in Law Degree or LLB as it can be done in two ways :- After 12th 5 years Integrated Law Degree and after Graduation 3 years Law Degree. As in order to become a Judicial Magistrate, you have to first get a law degree, after which you are qualified to take the Judicial Service exam in your State. If you are selected through that exam, you stand a chance of becoming a Judicial Magistrate or a Civil Judge. Normally those selected for the Judicial Services have to serve both as Civil Judge and as Judicial Magistrates at different times in their career.

Hope this helps!!!!
