gate exam has papers for engineering students o r pas outs and as well as msc pass or final year student, as you have done only b.sc which is a course of 3 years you are not eligible to apply. see gate score is necessary for you if you want to do phd or want to do mtech courses.

NO, you can't appear for the GATE exam because this exam needs a minimum of B.Tech or engineering degree qualification. This exam is conducted for the candidates of engineering background only and you have mentioned that you have done your B.Sc degree in zoology.
