I did M.A from open university 2021-2023 and B.Ed in 2022-2024..I took admission in September after ugc declared dual degree in April 2022...Will my both degrees are valid or not??
Validity of Dual Degrees (MA and B.Ed)
As per the UGC notification of April 2022, pursuing two degrees simultaneously is valid if one is through open/distance mode and the other is in regular mode. Your MA from Open University (2021-2023) and B.Ed (2022-2024) seem to align with this guideline. However, ensure both degrees comply with UGC norms and are recognized. It's advisable to confirm this with the respective universities or UGC for clarity.
I hope to have solved the question.
Thank you .
UGC issued guidelines on 13 april 2022, for pursuing two academic degree simultaneously . Higher educational institutions were requested to implement these guidelines for benefits of the students. These guidelines allow students to pursue two full time degrees in physical mode, as long as class timings don't overlap. One full time degree in physical mode and one in open and distance mode or online mode. So, you degree will be valid.
Hello,
Your degrees are valid. The University Grants Commission (UGC) officially allowed dual degrees in April 2022. The students can study two academic programs simultaneously. As you have enrolled in both programs after this announcement, your education will be in line with the UGC regulations. But it is important that your open university and B.Ed. institution are both recognized by the UGC and respective statutory bodies, like NCTE for B.Ed.
Ensure maximum validity:
- Both degrees were undertaken in different modes, for instance one distance learning and the other in regular mode.
- Proper documentation, such as admission dates and proof of adherence to UGC norms, is maintained.
These requirements being fulfilled, then the double degrees will be awarded recognition and will not receive problems regarding their validity with regards to employment or further training.
