I failed in class improvement exam this year so is the last year result valid

In some universities ,the highest of the both,i.e , regular or back ,is taken as the final result. For example, if you score more marks in the regular exam and you fail in the improvement exam ,then your regular exam marks will be taken as the final result. However, this system varies from one university to the other. Some private universities have rules of their own and it also varies from state to state.
