Hello Yash,
The NIT tag is an important tag that is generally preferred over other government colleges. According to JOSAA, the eligibility criteria for getting into any NIT is that one should have at least 75% in class 12 board exams.
As per your JEE Mains marks, you could have got an NIT in some branches but since you don't fulfil the eligibility of JOSAA, so you can't go for counselling.
As per me, you should try going for other GFTI's and CFTI's.
Good Luck!
NIT is difficult for you due to such low marks and also the cutoff marks for NITs will vary according to the branch and college. You can try in the counselling rounds by filling the choices with NITs and then you will be able to get the NIT for your course. For more information about the cutoff marks for the various NITs go through the link provided below.

Dear Yash,
Sorry to say but it is not possible to get admission in any of the NIT's after scoring 50% in 10+2 and 141 score in JEE
Because the minimum aggregate for 10+2 is 75% and the minimum rank in JEE mains should be 100000 to get any NIT
All the best
As per CBSE norms,Candidates need to have secured a minimum 75% marks in class XII or equivalent exam or be in the top 20 percentile in their class XII exam conducted by the respective board. For SC/ ST candidates, the eligibility criteria are to secure 65% marks in class XII or equivalent exam.
so you are not eligible for counselling
Hi there, Hope you are doing well. With 141 marks, your percentile would be around 98 and your rank around 20,000 so you have some seats in NITs available to you. But you don't clear the eligibility criteria of JoSAA i.e 75% in class 12th Hence you won't be allowed to seat for Counselling. Hope it would help.
Thank You
