seeing previous year's cutoff for computer science and engineering at NIT Warangal it seems difficult for you to get this branch in further rounds with the category rank you mentioned above in your question.

Every year cutoff ranks varies as it depends on various factors. So may be you'll be able to get other branches which are mostly preferred over chemical engineering in further rounds of counselling if you keep your float option on.

For CSAB rounds your CRL rank is considered and not your category rank. However the chances for you to get CSE in NIT warangal is really low as per the previous year's Cutoff even if you have the home state quota.

The previous year's cutoff for CSE department in NIT warangal was 7516 (OBC category) for home state quota in CSAB round 2 of counselling.

So as you can see 7516 is the CRL and as compared to your rank it's really tough for you to get CSE in NIT warangal.

Last year, 2019 NIT warangal CSE HS closing rank for CSAB round 2 was 7516, and this year due to Covid-19 Home State Quota is getting extra privilege too! So, Don't Lose hope! There are high chances of you getting admission there,
