The Common Admission Test (CAT) is the first and the most important component to get admission to the IIM Ahmedabad. In order to get admission to IIM A, you must obtain a good percentile in the CAT. However, scoring a mere percentile in the CAT will not give you a guarantee to get an interview call as IIM Ahmedabad has a very complex admission process.

IIM Ahmedabad gives consideration to a lot of factors while giving an interview call. These factors include CAT score, Class 10, Class 12, and Bachelor's degree marks, work experience, academic, and gender diversity, etc. Having no work experience will not hamper your selection chances but you will not get points allotted for the work experience. Your first priority should be to clear both the overall percentile of 80 and sectional percentile of 70 in each section.

If you even score somewhere around 99 percentile in the CAT , this will not mean that you will get a confirm Interview call. Therefore, the CAT score is not the only criteria but is one of the major criteria for admission to the institute.

The marks obtained by you in Class 10, Class 12, and Graduation will play a major role to get a shortlist for the WATPI process and during your final selection. Therefore, you have good chances to get admission in IIM Ahmedabad subject to the condition that you must perform well in the CAT followed by the WATPI process.
