Hello,

Well my friend you are going in a right direction. What you can do now is start reading newspapers and buy some standard books and ncert. It will help in building your base.  Just plan accoding to your college schedule and I know you will clear both with flying colors.

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC
)
is Indias central agency, whichconducts various exams such as,Civil Services Exam, IFS, NDA, CDS, SCRA etc. Civil services examination is popularly known as IAS examand includes almost 24 services like IFS, IPS, IRS, IRPS and so on.

Yes, you can

you just need to manage your time wisely, you should take out atleast 3 to 4 hours from your daily routine and be calm as stress wont change anything.

Hello Ayush, Glad to hear you have interest in UPSC but I my question is if you are planning to do graduation in Engineering why don't you opt for IES (Indian Engineering services) because inIES questions are related to engineering only, whereas in IAS no questions asked related to engineering and under such case doing graduation would be meaningless for you.

If you have interest in IAS i would prefer BA (Hons) because this would you to clear UPSC prelims and Mains paper.

Getting selected into UPSC is totally depends on how much hard work you put on, solve no. of practice paper & mock paper, Develop writing practice, Go through 10 previous years question paper, and be aware about syllabus, and last but not the least time management...

Give atleast 3-4 hours a day and by the time you complete your graduation you would be confident enough to appear and clear the paper... For further assistance be free to contact... All the best

IAS (Indian administrative services) is non-technical. The IAS officers are employed in the administrative departments of the Indian government.IAS has different branches like IPS, IRS, IFS and candidates who clear IAS will join different administrative services as officers. Any graduate can give IAS exam.IES (Indian engineering services) is technical. IES officers are mainly placed in the technical departments handling technical things in various branches of government services. Cracking IES exam will give you an opportunity to join railways, road, telecom or any other infrastructure-related service as an officer/engineer (head). Only Engineer candidate can give IES exam.

IT MEANS IF I DO IES than I have an opportunity to get Group A jobs in Railways like IRCTC, IRPS etc. And for this I have to crack UPSC exam.

Exams like IAS, IES, IFS, IPS, IRS, NDA and more comes under UPSC only... Means UPSC conducts exam for all these posts. The nature of work performed by these bureaucrats largely depends on their engineering branch.Suppose - IES (Civil engineer post) - Border Roads Engineering Service (Border Roads Organisation), Central Engineering Service (Central Public Works Department), Central Engineering Service (Ministry of Road Transport & Highways), Central Water Engineering Service (Central Water Commission), Indian Defence Service of Engineers (Military Engineer Services) and more... IES (Mechanical post) - Defence Aeronautical Quality Assurance Service, Indian Defence Service of Engineers (Military Engineer Services), Indian Inspection Service (Directorate General of Supply and Disposals, Indian Naval Armament Service (Directorate of Naval Armament), Indian Naval Stores Service (Indian Navy) and more... Likewise, there is the post for Electrical Engineering, Electronics and telecom. Engineering... Technical means in the field of construction, Govt. industrial development such as defence, railways, telecom sector and moreNon-technical means management of society such as during election time, During riot time, Managing decorum and so on

Dear Ayush,

There are many students who used to prepare for UPSC exam along with their B.Tech.

To manage both the things properly you need to manage your time.

You can make your proper time table. Don't miss your class in your B.Tech programme so that you can utilize your time in preparing for your exam.

All the Best!!
