Yes, you have heard right from the next sessions of UGC NET, National Testing Agence (NTA) will conduct the exam on the place CBSE.
NTA decided to conduct the UGC NET 2018 exam in online mode from 2nd December to 16th December 2018 in two shifts per day on Saturday and Sunday.
The online application process will be started from 1st September 2018. It will be ended on 30th September 2018.
The syllabus for UGC NET Dec 2018, eligibility criteria and exam pattern are same as per the previous year.
For JRF, the maximum age limit is 30 years on the other hand for the assistant professor there is no upper age limit.

From now on, NTA will conduct CTET and UGC NET. NTA will set professional standards for assessments in the country, research on education and professional development.
As per the official notification, National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct UGC NET 2018 for December session in computer-based mode. The exam will be held from December 2 to 16, 2018 in two shifts each day on Saturdays and Sundays. The application form of UGC NET 2018 for December session will be available from September 1 to 30. The result of UGC NET 2018 is expected to be declared on the last week of January 2019.
NTA will also conduct various other entrance examinations such as JEE Main, NEET, CMAT and GPAT.
The NTA will relieve CBSE, AICTE and other agencies from the responsibility of conducting these entrance examinations, and also bring in high reliability, standardized difficulty level for assessing the aptitude, intelligence and problem-solving abilities of the students.
