Dear Student ,

Look, in regular colleges , you may face difficulties to get admission in MA Bengali after passing graduation in English hons . But , in Open Distance learning, you are eligible to get admission in other subject which is not your hons subject in UG .

Some of the well known Universities in West Bengal, that offers MA in Bengali are as follows :

  • Directorate of Distance Education, The University of Burdwan, Bardhaman
  • Directorate of Distance Education, University of North Bengal, Siliguri
  • Directorate of Distance Education, Vidyasagar University, Midnapore
  • Directorate of Open and Distance Learning, University of Kalyani, Kalyani

To know more about the colleges , refer this :

Hope this helps !

Hi,

Eligibility Criteria for M.A. in Bengali

The following are the minimal requirements for students seeking an M.A. in Bengali from an Indian university:

A bachelor's degree in arts from a reputable university is required.

Students interested in Bengali language and literature and those interested in maintaining and expanding the language are eligible for admission.

Bengali must have been a major topic in the applicant's undergraduate degree.

For the course, students should have excellent speaking, reading, and writing of Bengali.

All the best !
