Perhaps you know that residential certificate and Domicile certificate is not the same. To get to domicile  certificate there is a few conditions that should be fullfilled by the student and have to apply to the respective authority for domicile certificate. For NEET UG exam counselling domicile certificate of Punjab is needed if you want to attend 85% state quota of Punjab counselling in Neet UG .

Domicile Rule for NEET in Punjab

For the 85% of state-funded seats available through Punjab UG NEET admission, only legal residents of Punjab are eligible. However, the following groups are excluded from this rule:

-Candidates whose parent(s) have since gone away but were employed by the Central Government of India, the Punjab Government, or the All India Services.

-Candidates who are the children or dependents of Central Government employees (who are no longer alive) who were posted in Punjab for at least two of the three years immediately preceding the year in which they passed Class XII or an equivalent exam, but who were also posted elsewhere for a portion of that time.

-Candidates with Punjabi births who are descendants of deceased defence or paramilitary personnel

-Candidates whose parents are Defense Personnel assigned to Punjab.

-The state quota seats are open to applicants who qualify under the NRI/Minority quota.
