hi ,

Congratulations on scoring 121 marks in the JEE Main 2025 exam .

Based on previous trends, a score of 121 marks in JEE Main typically corresponds to a percentile around 95. The expected cutoff for the OBC-NCL category is around 83 percentile.

Therefore, with a 95 percentile, you are likely to qualify for the JEE Advanced 2025.

Admission to National Institutes of Technology (NITs) depends on various factors, including your JEE Main rank, category, home state quota, and the specific NIT and engineering branch you are interested in. As a female candidate from the OBC-NCL category with Bihar as your home state, you have certain advantages due to reservation policies and the home state quota .

For instance, at NIT Patna, the closing ranks for the OBC-NCL category under the home state quota in previous years have been as follows:

  • Computer Science and Engineering (CSE): Around 6,254
  • Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE): Around 7,178
  • Mechanical Engineering: Around 14,533 .

Recommendation:

Given your likely qualification for JEE Advanced and your competitive standing for NIT admissions, it would be prudent to continue your preparation for JEE Advanced 2025. This will keep your options open for admission into the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and enhance your understanding of advanced concepts, which can be beneficial regardless of where you eventually enroll.

Additionally, keep an eye on the official announcements and counseling processes to make informed decisions about your applications to NITs and other institutions.

hope this helps.

Hello,

Congratulations on scoring 121 marks in the JEE Main 2025 exam. Let's assess your prospects for admission into a National Institute of Technology (NIT) and discuss the advisability of preparing for the JEE Advanced 2025.

Estimated Percentile and Rank:

Based on available data, a score of 121 marks in JEE Main 2025 is expected to correspond to a percentile range of approximately 97.81 to 98.25.

This percentile range typically translates to an All India Rank (AIR) between 22,533 and 29,145.

Admission Prospects in NITs:

As a female candidate from the OBC-NCL category with Bihar as your home state, you have the advantage of both female and home state quotas. Admission to NITs depends on various factors, including the specific NIT, the engineering branch, and annual variations in cutoffs.

For instance, at NIT Patna, the closing ranks for the OBC-NCL female category in previous years have been as follows:

Computer Science and Engineering: Closing rank around 13,000.

Electronics and Communication Engineering: Closing rank around 19,000.

Civil Engineering: Closing rank around 37,000.

Consideration for JEE Advanced 2025:

The qualifying cutoff for JEE Advanced varies each year. In previous years, the cutoff for the OBC-NCL category has been around the 70th percentile. With your estimated percentile of approximately 98, you are likely to qualify for JEE Advanced. If you aspire to join an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) or wish to keep that option open, it would be prudent to begin preparing for JEE Advanced 2025.

With a score of 121 marks in JEE Mains 2025 as a female OBC-NCL candidate from Bihar, you might be able to secure admission to a few lower-ranked NITs, but getting into a top NIT with this score is unlikely; therefore, you should consider preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 if you want a wider range of options, especially for better NITs and IITs.

Cutoff variations:

The cutoff for NITs varies based on the institute, branch, category, and home state quota. While your score might be sufficient for some lower-ranked NITs in your home state, it might not be enough for top NITs even with the OBC-NCL reservation.

Check previous year trends:

Analyze the previous year's cutoff for NITs in Bihar for the OBC-NCL category to get a better idea of your chances.

Analyze your rank:

Once the JEE Mains results are out, check your All India Rank (AIR) to understand your position within the OBC-NCL category.

Explore college options:

Use the JEE Main rank predictor tools to explore potential NITs and other participating institutes where your score might be competitive.

Start preparing for JEE Advanced:
