For becoming a collector one needs to complete the graduation degree in any stream so you can opt for any stream after your class 10th. If you have interest in Science subjects then you can go for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics combination but you can also opt for Humanities stream as the subjects taught in this stream are beneficial for future in choosing elective subject before appearing for UPSC examination like Geography, History are scoring subjects there.
Eligibility criteria for being a Collector:
After completing graduation you need to apply for the civil services exam conducted by the UPSC. The exam has 3 levels, which are, preliminary, mains and a personal interview. If you clear all these rounds in the same attempt then you'll be appointed as a collector. There are six attempts given to a candidate to appear for UPSC examination.
