First and foremost 60.67 marks in Gate from electrical branch is indeed a great score to look forward to M.tech from IITs as well as to pursue a career from a PSU. Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) recruits engineers for the post of Graduate Engineer on the basis of the Gate score and the performace of the candidated in the personal interview.
The cutoff for IOCL in 2018 was 54.03 marks in SC category. Since the Gate exam of 2019 was of moderate level so we can expect the cut off to go a little higher up to 58 (expected). IOCL conducts its own exam to recruit students based on their gate score. The application form gets available in February which clearly means that you can fill it now. The last date to fill the same has not been notified but is expected in March first week.
Candidated need to fill thier gate registration number in the form. The eligibility criteria for candidates in to score minimum 65% for General category and 55% for SC and ST category in th IOCL recruitment test. The IOCL also has a service bond of INR 3 Lacs for a General category candidate and INR 55,000 for a SC and ST category candidate.
After a candidate gets through the test. He needs to appear in GD (group Discussion), GT(Group Task) and PI (Personal Interview). To get through this successfully, the candidate needs to score 40% and above.
IOCL provides a CTC of INR 17 Lacs for the post of Graduate Engineer.
The selected candidate will get the call letter by June 2019.
