I recently passed HSC board exam. I want to do mechanical engineering.but I'm so confused between whether I should go for diploma or direct in degree. suggest me... which Will be beneficial considering good future opportunities (package)?
Hi
When a student thinks of his career then engineering is one of the most sought sphere. Similar is the case with you. You want to pursue mechanical engineering.
Look doing diploma is not bad, but considering wide range of opportunities and reputation you should go for B.Tech degree. Moreover you would like to have hefty package you should choose degree directly. You have passed secondary examination you must be having good concept. Now you should start preparing for various engineering examinations loke JEE main and advanced, BiTSAT, WBJEE,VITEEE and so on. You should aim for IITs and NITs to do mechanical engineering. Going into these renowned institutes will fetch you highly paid jobs.
Thanks and feel free to ask more questions.
Doing a diploma in mechanical engineering will prepare you for a particular job aspect. But a degree in mechanical engineering will prepare you for a variety of jobs. After a degree your number of opportunities will be much more.
Diploma would only take 3 years and you can directly join a job after that. But you won't be able to do master's without having bachelor's degree. If you do Bachelor's after Diploma then it would be another 3 years for you. Bachelor's would be only 4 years of you opt for it directly.
Almost all students go for diploma course after their 10th, but since you have already completed your 12th, it would be better for you if you go for a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering as you already have many of the required knowledge.
If you want to get an early job then you might consider going for a diploma.
Make the decision wisely by consulting your family and teachers. All the best
Hope it helps
