IMU-CET is the entrance test conducted by Indian Maritime University for the admissions in their campus as well for other colleges affiliated with the university.
For DNS course the exam is conducted twice a year i.e. in June and December.
And for all other courses it is conducted in June.
With this entrance test you can enter Merchant Navy by doing courses depending upon your interest.
If you have interest for Deck Department you can go for DNS or B.Sc in Nautical Science.
And if you have interest in Engine department you can choose B.Tech in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture and Oceans Engineering.
IMU-CET exam consists of Physics, Chemistry, Maths, English, General Knowledge and Logical Reasoning. There's a marks criteria as well the candidate should have scored minimum of 60% in PCM along with minimum of 50% in English both in 10th and 10+2.
After clearing the exam you have to sit for the counselling and after getting the college you have to do the Medical from a D.G. Shipping approved Doctor. For Deck Department there is no relaxation with eyesight it should be 6/6 without glasses but for Engine department there is some relaxation which is 6/12 or 2.5 without glasses.
