Hey!
It is good that you know have clarity about your profession.
Since you have not mentioned about the level of the programme you are looking for, UG or PG, my answer here is general.
See, Newspaper Journalist, actually better called as Print Journalists, are the ones who work in the print medium of mass communication, be it newspaper or magazine. To be a print journalist, you need to study Journalism from any of government or private institutions. Your programme in Journalism will provide you with a wider perspective on communications in India and at International level. You will also learn to define and develop opportunities from various mediums, be it print, broadcasting etc. So you will study the strategies of journalism for various platforms. Once the programme is complete, you can apply for a job in different print organisations and become a Print Journalist, as you have aspired. Some of the institutes offering degree in Journalism, in no order, at UG and PG level are,
IIMC
Jamia Millia Islamia
Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune
Delhi University
GGS IP University
University of Mumbai
Banaras Hindu University
Asian College of Journalism
Xavier Institute Of Communications
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan
Department of Media Studies, Christ University
Hope this helps!
